For those who want to see what a Yamaha P-120 digital piano/keyboard sounds like, I've provided audio samples at the following URL:
http://loveforjesus.com/pianotest/
These were recorded directly from the lineout of my P120, fed into a M-Audio TransitUSB recording device at 96KHz, 24bits, then recorded to a .wav file via Sound Forge. So basically they are good recordings with little noise.
Then they were converted into their respective .mp3 or .wma compressed files via Lame mp3 encoder(cdex) / Windows Media codec(dbpoweramp), which also handled downsampling of the audio from 96KHz @ 24bits to 48/44KHz @ 16bits.
The best quality samples are the .wma files as they are better quality than the equivalent .mp3 files of the same bitrate. The best samples (if you want the best) are the "lossless" .wma samples.
The files that start with name "p120_etc,etc" are samples to compare against the "Digital Piano Shootout" at http://www.purgatorycreek.com/pianocompare.html, as they are created via the same pianotest1.mid midi file as the "shootout" files. The designation "hall" "room" "none" indicates the type of reverb setting that they were recorded at, with "hall" being the Yamaha P120 default reverb setting.
Have fun!
