Ming Freeman (Keyboards)
Ming Freeman was born in Taiwan of Chinese Canadian decent. He began playing piano at the age of nine. At the age of eleven made his professional debut as a keyboardist performing with his brothers. In 1994 while musical director and first keyboardist for Sheena Easton, Ming received a phone call from Yanni's Tour manager and was invited to attend a show with the possibility of his being interested in working with him. Ming attended the show and found himself very attracted to the effect of the music on Yanni's fans. They met after the show and the rest is history. In August of 1994 Ming left Sheena Easton and joined Yanni as his Keyboardist. Ming would also become a featured soloist with Yanni with his first debut with Yanni in Mexico City in 1994. Ming has been featured in the "London Royal Albert Hall" video and is also featured on the "Tribute "video and CD filmed and recorded at the Taj Majal in Agra, India and also at "The Forbidden City" in Beijing, China. He is currently featured in the tour live concerts performing a piano solo in Yanni's "If I Could Tell You" and "Dance With A Stranger". Ming is multi faceted in his roles as Composer, Producer, Multi keyboardist, Musical Director and Arranger. Strongly influenced by his ethnic roots from China he also embodies Jazz, Rock, Classical, Latin, and R&B as well as many World influences in his own music.
