Confirmed: Yamaha's old P120 action has been replaced with the smoother P90 acton
The P120 just got better. It plays smoother and it sounds smoother.
I called Yamaha Parts (888-892-6242) and got confirmation that the old P120 action (V7803300) has been superseded by the newer VZ705400 action, the same key action assembly used in the P90. The P90 action is a somewhat lighter and easier to play action. It's velocity scale produces a smoother legato phrasing in the sound.
The new Yamaha P120 models have P90 actions?
The lady I called at Yamaha parts said:
The P120 Graded Action was a
V7803300
She said the P120 Graded Action has been "superseded" with part number:
V705400
The P90 Graded Action part number is:
VZ705400
That would be a good thing, the P90 action is smoother and easier to play. Maybe some of my criticism of the P120 action has paid off. |
