String Machines：

The Logan/Hohner was considered to be one of the better sounding string keyboards during its production which started in the mid 1970's. This was due to the fact, that each of the 49 keys got its own simple AD-envelope.

This was way better then a simple on/off one of the more organ sounding string machines or one paraphonic envelope for all keys together. The Logan String Melody II (1977 - 1980), which is represented here, got additional parameters and added presets like Organ. There are lite versions of some of the sounds, for those of you who want to save memory space.

The Korgs - Delta - Lambda - Trident - PE1000：

Korg's Delta from 1979 is an analog semi-polyphonic string machine/synthesizer. Though limited in the range of sounds compared with other synthesizers of the same genre, the quality of the sound from this little beastie makes it into something of a marvel of its time.

The string sounds are very basic but with it's separate outputs and when mixed together with the polysynth you do get that classic 'layered' sound which is useful enough. The Delta has been used by the Human League, Flock of Seagulls, Ladytron and many more.

The Korg Lambda ES50 is a vintage poly-ensemble type synthesizer with slightly editable preset orchestral sounds. It is divided into two sections: The Percussion set includes pianos, clavis and harmonics; The Ensemble section has Brass, Strings, Organ and Choruses.

The mighty Trident had a synth, a string and a brass section, which could be used simultaneously. We've sampled the strings and the brass and some combinations. Famous users: Rick Wakeman and Joe Zawinul.

The PE1000 was a 61-note electronic piano some control over its sound, but with a single oscillator per note, no touch-sensitivity, and just a single filter and envelope for the whole keyboard. Nonetheless, the PE1000 was soon to be seen in some respected company; Vangelis used one, as did Jean-Michel Jarre.

Elka Rhapsody：

The Rhapsody String synthesizer was built from 1975 till 1980 by the italian company Elka. It was one of the more widely spread string machines at its time. The list of users includes acts like JM Jarre, Tangerine Dream, Supertramp and several others.

Eminent 310 Strings：

The Eminent 310 Unique that debuted in 1972, was a traditional looking home organ with a great addition, a string synthesizer. The sounds that this unit produced were largely unnoticed by the contemporary musical world until a certain French gentleman started to use the unit.

The first albums from Jean Michel Jarre features the rich and lush sounds from the Eminent, and he still uses these units on stage. The Eminent later spawned the Solina. We've included 3 different sizes of these samples.

Crumar Performer：

The Performer is a polyphonic analog Strings and Brass machine produced at the end of the 1970's by the Italian synth company. The Performer is best remembered for its Strings. A simple 3-band equalizer with high, mid and low sliders can be used to give the strings shimmering sparkle or moody dark timbres.

Roland VP-330：

The VP330 is considered to be a very desirable vocoder, but we've sampled its synthesizer section with the voice and string sounds. Here is an excerpt from Roland's info-sheet from 1979: ''The String section produces orchestral string sounds that are silky and warm feeling, and most importantly, consistent throughout the entire length of the keyboard.''
