SOLD MY ROLAND!!! IT seems like Roland can't get away of piano patches since the 80s. RD 800 v piano lol... You have to tweak your A$$ off!! Do the study on kawai real keys and Polyphony as well as samples!!! Roland sample sections, but Kawai Mp sample every Note!! The problem with Roland's is Middle C of the keyboard, however, many songs start in this section! BTW ROLAND MAKE A REAL GOOD MIDI BOARD!!! KMSL.

Kawai sounds much more natural, warmer, more depth, clearer. But then again, Kawai has experience in manufacturing real pianos... it shows!

i like sound of EX grand and Yamaha CFX more then Steinway D, this is the first choice for CP4 and MP11 for me,
but for another sound for my opinion CP and RD sound better(for me), another reason for my opinion after I try MP7,CP4,and RD800 I like Kawai 's key touching and responding then another
but bad luck for me in my country(Thailand) the dealer didn't import MP11 for sale, and the price of MP7 very close to RD800 (CP4 is over 2900 USD RD800 around 2500USD and Kawai MP7 around 2300 USD)

I have now had my new Kawai MP11 for a little over a week. (I believe I managed to purchase the last one currently in stock in the entire United States, from Kraft Music in Wisconsin.) I have been playing it at least 4 hours a day since I got it set up. All I can say is: "WOW!" I researched stage pianos for a couple weeks beforehand, and was able to play the Yamaha CP4, the Roland RD-800, and several others. I also played the Kawai MP10 (now discontinued, but still in stock at one music store I visited). As impressed as I was with the MP10, the MP11 is markedly superior in terms of the its keyboard action (the new Kawai "Grand Feel" keyboard). The acoustic piano sounds are the most realistic I have heard on any digital. Is it as good as a high quality Yamaha or Kawai or Steinway grand? Well ... no. A good acoustic grand is still as good as it gets -- as long as you have $30,000 to shell out for one. But for $2800, the Kawai MP11 is the best alternative. At least that is my opinion on the question. As with all purely subjective music matters, your mileage may vary.

+Jeffrey Newton I would still go with the Kawai. I agree the MP10/MP11 is expensive and heavy. The MP7 will give you more sounds and lighter weight, and the action is still really good. If you are training for performance on a grand piano with a heavier action, you might want the wooden keys of the MP10/MP11. Otherwise the MP7 has a lot to offer. I personally find the MP series to be more like playing a real piano than the Yamaha and Roland, but it really is all personal preference. They are all good instruments. I still play my MP10 a lot. I no longer spend time thinking about other digitals, and I would rather play my MP10 than a cheap or broken down acoustic.

The obvious winner is.. Kawai MP 10. But check out the new Kawai MP 11.
Completely new design and the GrandFeel action. Just great !

I have been researching stage pianos intently for the past several days, and I just happened on this particular side-by-side comparison. It took about ... mmmm ... about three or four measures to discern the OVERWHELMINGLY OBVIOUS reality that the Kawai MP10 is to the Roland RD800 what the F-16 fighter jet is to the WWII-era piston-engine P-51. Don't get me wrong, the RD800 is a decent sounding stage piano. But, in my considered opinion, the MP10 is several orders of magnitude superior to the RD800 -- at least in terms of its "genuine acoustic piano" sounds and keyboard action. It could very well be that the Roland offers other features that make it a superior choice for someone for whom those particular features are important or essential. But, when it comes to the fundamental question as to which of these two digital stage pianos sounds more like a real acoustic piano ... well, in my estimation, THERE IS REALLY NO COMPARISON! The Kawai is FAR superior. And you can even tell, by both the sound, as well as by the way the performer's fingers literally bounce and dance on the keyboard, that the action of the Kawai is FAR, FAR superior to the Roland.
I will be buying myself the new Kawai MP11 just as soon as I can determine the closest place to get one. And believe me ... I CAN'T WAIT!!
注意看最后这个评论,拿KAWAI跟ROLAND比,就好比F16喷气式飞机跟老式活塞螺旋桨P51飞机来空战!!
