GENESYS IS VERY POWERFUL
I own a Genesys and I will tell you, in my opinion, it is a fantastic keyboard. All the latest talk is about the Yamaha Tyros 2 but, they are just now coming out with things that General Music has had in a number of it's products for several years. Now to answer your questions:
1. Ease of operation...The Genesys is almost intuitive as far as ease of operation. I have found very few times where I have had to refer to the manual, which, by the way, is very well written and, it tells you how to do things, not just what things do.
2. Sounds/Styles. The sounds are outstanding and they are all editable, in that, you can adjust all the parts of the sounds and even replace parts of the sound with other parts(instruments.) There are 256 styles on board plus room for another 64 user styles.
3. Dependability. I have had one problem with my board and it was fixed in very short order. In fact, since the person who did the repair was coming through my area to deliver a unit to another customer, she came right to my house and made the necessary repairs. Board changeout.
4. Recomment product? I guess you can tell from my answers to your other questions that I would highly recommend this product. I am totally sold on General Music products and, in the near future I plan to buy a GEM Promega 3. I will also keep my Genesys. No way would I let it go.
The Genesys, in my estimation, is the best arranger/workstation on the market, bar none. And, that includes all the boards that have hit the market since the Genesys was first introduced. You can add your own samples, edit the current voices and save them in memory. It will play midi-mp3-kar, etc. has a video out so you can hook it up to a TV to provide a larger screen or to display karaoke words, etc. It will record audio to the hard drive which can then be burned to a CD. It will remove voice from a CD track so you can put your own voice on in it's place. It has a vocal genius which provides up to four voices to harmonize with yours. It has a 3 1/2 floppy drive and, so many other capabilities that I can't begin to name all of them. I would strongly suggest you find a dealer and check one out for yourself. If you can't find a dealer, let Dave McMahon know and he will certainly find a way to help you out in that regard. Dave is the moderator of this forum and he checks in everyday unless something is drastically wrong.
I hope my answers will help in your decision making. I don't think you can go wrong with a Genesys. |
